Dear Supporter,
Trump's fabricated national emergency declaration is a clear and blatant attempt circumvent Congress's clear authority as outlined in the Constitution -- and it must be stopped.
While 16 states have filed a lawsuit challenging Trump's fake emergency, Congress has an opportunity to act (but it must do so swiftly) to put an immediate end to Trump's declaration. Right now, there has been a resolution of disapproval introduced in the U.S. House that, if passed by both chambers of Congress, would BLOCK the emergency declaration and END Trump's raid of federal funds for his racist and immoral border wall.
The day that Trump declared his "national emergency," he declared that he "didn't have to" making it clear that he is deliberately attempting to bypass Congress in an effort to steal billions of dollars in federal funds for a border wall. Thankfully, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is planning to bring the resolution to a vote as quickly as possible in the House, but it faces an uphill battle as many of Trump's Republican allies in Congress are eager to support this egregious disregard of the Constitution.
We must ensure that there is resounding, bipartisan support to put a halt to Trump's fabricated emergency and it begins with your signature.
