Dear Supporter, Trump's head of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), former Verizon lawyer Ajit Pai, is expected to announce a vote on a plan to end net neutrality as soon as November 22, the day before Thanksgiving. The US public overwhelmingly supports net neutrality, and key lawmakers are considering taking action to slow this process down… but they need to hear from their constituents like you to push them to act. Net neutrality means that all content on the internet is given the same treatment by those who provide internet services and that these internet service providers (ISPs) can't slow down your browsing on certain pages or block websites or charge sites fees to reach an audience. It means that we all have access to the same internet no matter what we pay. If net neutrality is canned, the Internet will look more like cable TV where the content we see is controlled by corporations like Comcast and Verizon. People across the globe use the internet to exchange ideas, organize, and participate in democracy, and the FCC under Ajit Pai cannot be allowed to destroy net neutrality. Thank you for all that you do. Katie O'Connell, Digital Communications Coordinator
