We are on the verge of a government shutdown! And it's all because of Trump's racism and his refusal to ruffle feathers among his rabidly anti-immigrant base ... that, and Speaker Paul Ryan's inability to work past the extremism of his GOP House majority and pass a good-faith spending bill that could attract bipartisan support and pass in the Senate.
It's actually apropos that we're heading for a government shutdown on the eve of Trump's one-year anniversary as president. Remember, this is the same president who last year advocated for a shutdown over his hateful agenda, saying, "If we have to close down our government, we're building that wall."
