Donald Trump delivers his first State of the Union Address this coming Tuesday, but you already know that, sadly, our union is in shambles.
The good news is that a solid majority of Americans oppose Trump, his authoritarian reshaping of our government, his war on our rights and values, and his party’s extreme right-wing agenda. But the cult following Trump commands is still massive, and their loyalty to Trump and disconnection from facts and the truth is nourished every day by Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media.
And, perhaps worst of all, Republican members of Congress are shamelessly complicit, as we watch them become more and more willing to lie and cover for Trump, and to attack our democratic institutions and norms on his behalf.
This year is our chance to turn the tide and save our country by defeating Trump Republicans, both in the policy arena and in the midterm elections, and providing a desperately needed check on Trump’s power and his administration’s flagrant lawlessness.
But we need to hit our monthly membership goals in order to be strong enough to do it.

Republican members of Congress in both the Senate and the House, including leaders of the House Intelligence Committee, are not only trafficking in dangerous far-right conspiracy theories about the Russia investigation and the FBI, they are actively helping to manufacture them.

- Senate Republicans are throwing out decades of rules and traditions in a mad dash to pack our courts with Trump's unfit, unqualified, extreme right-wing judicial nominees.
- The White House and GOP members of Congress continue to play politics with the lives of nearly 800,000 DREAMers...
- More news seems to come out every week about insidious efforts to rig our elections in Republicans' favor and trample voting rights...
- Trump is using the Department of Health and Human Services to hijack religious freedom and turn it into a weapon of discrimination against LGBTQ people and women -- in health care of all things, making it especially cruel...
- Republicans in Congress this week are aggressively trying to pass a 20-week abortion BAN…
And the list goes on. Their cruelty seems never ending … remember this is the party that, as a shameful bargaining chip, held 9 million kids’ health care (via the Children’s Health Insurance Program) hostage for months.
