Dear Supporter,
As the Research Editor at PFAW's Right Wing Watch, I have seen a lot of cruel and extreme ideologies and statements from members of the Radical Right. Trump judicial nominee Jeff Mateer, who once spoke at a "Kill the Gays" conference and called transgender children part of "Satan's plan," echoes some of the right-wing's most appalling and toxic ideas.
Mateer is one of Trump's WORST nominees, and we are doing all that we can to stop his appointment to a lifetime federal court seat in its tracks.
But we won't succeed unless we have a huge number of PFAW supporters standing with us demanding that this unacceptable nominee's name be withdrawn.
That's why I'm asking -- will you add your name to demand Mateer's nomination be withdrawn?
As a lawyer in Texas, Mateer has been on the front lines of the right-wing effort to redefine religious liberty as a right to discriminate against LGBTQ people and others. And the hateful things he has said rank right up there with the homophobic rhetoric used by the most extreme far-right leaders we cover.
We're already closing in on 50,000 signatures but, frankly, we need a lot more than that. This campaign is a massive undertaking -- one that we're backing up with research, video ads, grassroots organizing in target states, and media outreach -- and we need one of the biggest petition responses ever from our members if we're going to get this dangerous nominee pulled.

There is no way that someone who holds Mateer's beliefs should have a lifetime judicial appointment. Thank you for taking action!
