We've already told you about how Trump judicial nominee Jeff Mateer called transgender youth "part of Satan's plan," endorsed the deadly practice of so-called "gay conversion therapy," and even attended a 2015 conference hosted by a notorious "kill the gays" pastor ... now, CNN reports that Mateer also has made a series of comment comparing policies like the contraception mandate at issue in the Hobby Lobby case to crackdowns by the Nazis! He actually said that these policies aimed at ensuring equal access to birth control are akin to "what happened in the 1930s in Germany with Hitler." It seems to be a pattern of Mateer's to cry "Nazi" at any policy that disagrees with the radical Religious Right.
These comments are jaw-dropping, and Mateer has proven that the Senate should not even consider him for the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Under no circumstances should Jeff Mateer sit on the federal bench for a lifetime appointment. If a nominee like this can be considered for a lifetime seat, I shudder to think about the types of nominees Trump will appoint in the future.
Your voice and pressure can stop a truly harmful and extreme nominee from being appointed to a federal court.
