Opponents of comprehensive reproductive health care and LGBTQ equality at the Department of Health and Human Services have proposed a new rule that would allow hospitals, doctors, nurses, and other individuals and health care institutions to discriminate against patients and deny them potentially life-saving medical care based on their personal beliefs.
Politics should never be prioritized above a patient's needs or determine the care a patient receives. Women and transgender patients already are denied access to the most basic medical care.
