Support VESSELS Vote!

Following deliberate attempts to diminish the political agency and power of African Americans through Voter ID bills, voter purges, and other scurrilous restrictions, People For the American Way Foundation created the nonpartisan, year round VESSELS Vote! initiative of its African American Religious Affairs (AARA) program in 2010 to advance racial justice, a cultural shift in civic engagement, and access to the democratic process for all.

Through this program, clergy, laity and community leaders are trained across the country mobilize African American voters to the polls and organize their communities against policies which would make it more difficult for them to cast their ballot.
