People for the American Way

sign the petition to restore the VRA

Supporter,

After the Supreme Court gutted the heart of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) in the 5-4 Shelby County ruling, voters in cities and states that were once protected by federal oversight began facing a flood of discriminatory laws that made it harder to vote.

The Voting Rights Advancement Act is a chance to restore protections against this kind of discrimination.

Sign the petition now to demand that Congress pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act>>

Our allies in the House JUST reintroduced the Voting Rights Advancement Act to update the VRA and restore much-needed strength to the parts of the landmark civil rights bill that were undermined by the Supreme Court’s 2013 ruling.

We’ve been fighting for this piece of legislation for years and now we finally have the chance to get it passed! Now, more than ever, it is absolutely necessary to combat voter suppression.

Tell Congress to ensure that every American is able to exercise their fundamental right to participate in our elections now!>>

Thanks for all you do.
