On November 30, Trump lawyer Joseph diGenova went on a conservative talk show and, in talking about the fake claims of election fraud that Trump’s team has been pushing for the past month, said that the former director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Christopher Krebs, “should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”
It is unacceptable for anyone to make threats of violence against another person, but for a practicing attorney representing the President of the United States to make such threats is especially appalling. Even the former White House Communications Director, Alyssa Farah, said that diGenova’s “statement was wildly inappropriate.”
Serving as a counsel to Trump gives an attorney a platform of significant public influence, and diGenova should face consequences for his troubling behavior.
Demand that the DC Bar’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel investigate and reprimand Joseph diGenova for his call to violence!
