Urge the Senate to Reject Anti-Trans Bill!

U.S. SENATE:

As a concerned constituent, I am deeply troubled by attacks on transgender rights. The House Rules package includes a provision that redefines “sex” in a way that will keep transgender people out of sports and deprive them of the protections afforded under Title IX. Trans rights are human rights and I oppose any attempts to legislate anti-trans bigotry. The fact that this has already passed the House of Representatives is unacceptable.

Transgender people deserve access to the same opportunities and experiences as their cisgender peers. This legislation opens the door for even more attacks on transgender rights in the future and I will not stand for it. Reject anti-trans laws in the rules package now!

Amid all the pressing issues facing our nation, somehow anti-trans legislation was a top priority for Congressional Republicans. The House recently passed a measure that would redefine “sex” as it applies to Title IX athletics. While the legislation isn’t exactly clear about how “a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth” will be determined, we know for sure this is the first of many attacks on transgender people to come out of this Congress. This legislation has passed the House of Representatives and is now pending in the Senate.
