In the heart of Washington, D.C., a new symbol of civic power is about to take shape — and you can help make it happen.
We’re proud to join forces with a US Army veteran and former US Senate aide, ESSAM, and Local Democracy Action to create the DC Democracy Mural — a powerful public art project reminding us that democracy is reclaimed not through division or violence, but through our shared humanity and participation at the local level.
Soon, a prominent wall on Florida Avenue NW, across from the historic Howard Theater, will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of civic engagement. At its center will be President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s timeless words:
“The ultimate rulers of our democracy… are the voters of this country.”
This mural will stand as a beacon of creative resistance and civic renewal — sparking conversation, inspiring courage, and anchoring a movement rising from the ground up.
