Don’t Let McConnell Cover for Trump’s Lawlessness!

The special counsel investigation needs to be protected. The bipartisan Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act has been passed out of the Judiciary Committee with substantial bipartisan support, and has growing support from members of your party.

It's unacceptable to prevent the bill from coming to the Senate floor, especially for your stated reason that it is unnecessary and we don't have to worry about the president interfering with the investigation. The president continues to raise concerns over the potential for his interfering with the investigation, so insisting that he has no intention to do so, and therefore the bill is not needed, seems either misguided or dishonest.

    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is trying to kill the bipartisan legislation to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump and his administration. We need to do everything we can not to let him.

    It seems like every day, Trump goes on another lie-filled Twitter rant against what he calls "the World’s most expensive Witch Hunt." All the while, his staunchest allies in Congress and the right-wing media continue to attack the investigation and are egging Trump on to take action against it.

    The bipartisan bill to protect the investigation is urgently needed. Tell McConnell he needs to allow a fair, up-or-down vote on the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act!
