Tell Congress: Only a Constitutional Amendment Can End Birthright Citizenship!

The 14^th Amendment is crystal clear: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”

Congress cannot end birthright citizenship through simple legislation. And Trump certainly can’t do it through an executive order. Nothing short of a constitutional amendment can do so.

You took an oath to defend the US Constitution. Don't attack it with racist election-year ploys! I demand that you REJECT unconstitutional efforts to terminate birthright citizenship.

Trump Republicans -- at all levels -- have fomented hate, fear and white nationalism in our country. They have targeted the Muslim community, immigrants and refugees, people of color, and many more.

Now, they're taking their anti-immigrant rhetoric a step further -- both President Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are expected to introduce proposals that would ban birthright citizenship for non-citizens and undocumented immigrants.

It's wrong and antithetical to the values of our country -- not to mention, UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
