After spending years stoking fear in the hearts of countless Americans, Trump has declared a national emergency to raid federal funds in order to construct his racist and immoral border wall.
This is a blatant attempt to sidestep Congressional authority and circumvent the constitution -- and it must be stopped.
Throughout his campaign and since his inauguration, Trump has waged a racist crusade of demonizing the immigrant community and migrants at the southern border. By Trump's own admission following his emergency declaration, he stated "I didn't need to do this." While a lawsuit has been filed by 16 states to block Trump's emergency declaration, a resolution of disapproval has been filed in Congress that would block Trump's attempt to circumvent Congressional authority by raiding federal funds for his racist and immoral border wall.
The resolution will soon be introduced in the House, and then once the House acts, the Senate must take up the measure and will have only 15 days to vote on it. With this narrow window, it’s extremely important to let our Congressional delegations know how important it is to pass the resolution.
