The Trump administration is using the Department of Homeland Security as a tool of control and intimidation, not protection. Federal immigration agents have been detaining U.S. citizens across the country – people with valid passports, birth certificates, and every legal right to be free.

A ProPublica investigation uncovered more than 170 cases of Americans wrongfully held by ICE and CBP, many for days at a time. Some were assaulted, and one woman was deprived of water for 24 hours while in custody. These are not isolated errors. They reveal a system operating with impunity – one that has abandoned the law and the people it’s sworn to serve.

Democratic members of Congress, led by Senator Richard Blumenthal and Representative Robert Garcia, have demanded that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem release all records related to these detentions. The public deserves answers – and your voice can help ensure this abuse of power cannot be buried.
