The Voting Rights Act was born from sacrifice, organizing, and the hard-fought truth that every eligible voter should be able to cast a ballot and have that vote count.
But the right-wing Supreme Court has spent years weakening that landmark law, and its recent decision in Louisiana v. Callais opened the door to even more attacks on fair representation. Now Republican politicians are moving quickly to redraw maps, dilute the power of voters of color, and lock in partisan advantage before voters can hold them accountable.
Congress must act. Add your name now to urge Congress to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and restore the strong federal protections our democracy urgently needs.
