Ed Martin’s praise for a notorious January 6 rioter – someone described by former colleagues and in court filings as expressing racist, antisemitic, and white nationalist views – should disqualify him from serving in any position of public trust, let alone as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. This office carries immense power to launch baseless prosecutions of Trump’s political opponents – a true threat to our democracy.

I urge you to reject Ed Martin’s nomination and prevent this dangerous extremist from gaining control of one of the most consequential law enforcement roles in the country.
