Stop the White House Pay-to-Play Scheme

U.S. CONGRESS:

President Trump is raising enormous sums from corporations and wealthy insiders to fund a White House ballroom and other vanity projects, all while many of these donors have business before his administration and the White House shields key details from the public. The Stop Ballroom Bribery Act (S. 3191 & H.R. 6085) from Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Robert Garcia would shut down this pay to play pipeline by banning conflicted donations, blocking solicitation by the President and Vice President, requiring full transparency of donors and meetings, and ensuring no leftover funds can be used for personal benefit.

I urge you to support passage of this important legislation.

President Trump is collecting massive sums from corporations and wealthy donors for a White House ballroom and other self-serving projects, even as many of these donors seek federal approvals, contracts, or favors.

The Stop Ballroom Bribery Act from Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Robert Garcia would close the loopholes that make this possible by banning conflicted donations, blocking solicitation by the President and Vice President, requiring full transparency, and preventing leftover funds from being used for personal gain.
