Tell the Senate to Stop Partisan Gerrymandering!

U.S. SENATE:

If the 2020 Census data is abused by Far Right lawmakers, gerrymandering could alter the way our government works for the rest of our lifetimes. In addition to the voter suppression laws passed this year in states like Georgia, Arizona, and Texas, gerrymandering voting districts is one more tool the Far Right plans to use to steal the next election. We cannot afford to let politicians draw deeply partisan and racially divisive districts that deprive voters of the chance to elect the best leaders for their communities.

I urge you to take action to stop partisan gerrymandering by passing the redistricting protections contained in the Freedom to Vote Act!

On August 12, the U.S. Census Bureau released the data that sets off what will be the most consequential redistricting battle of our generation. Control of the House of Representatives hangs in the balance with the slim majority Democrats currently hold, and partisan gerrymandering by right-wing state lawmakers could alter the way our government works for the rest of our lifetimes. Voters should choose their elected officials, not the other way around.

In addition to the voter suppression laws passed this year in states like Georgia, Arizona, and Texas, gerrymandering voting districts is one more tool the Far Right plans to use to steal the next election.
