Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s latest tweets, in which she calls multiple Senators “pro-pedophile,” are outrageously false, and could very well cause real-world violence similar to the D.C. pizzeria attack in 2017.

You’ve already suspended her personal account for repeatedly spreading coronavirus misinformation. I now call on you to also permanently suspend her official account for inciting harassment and violence.

Twitter: Suspend Marjorie Taylor Greene!

Earlier this month, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene used her official congressional Twitter account to accuse multiple Senators of being “pro-pedophile” for supporting the nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

This attack is not only disgusting and baseless; it could also lead to violence, similar to the 2017 incident when a Q-Anon follower shot up a D.C. pizza restaurant based on online conspiracy theories about a child trafficking ring.

The election-year proliferation of dangerous lies, conspiracy theories and disgusting personal smears online is underway, and Twitter has a responsibility to be vigilant about not letting their platform be used to stoke violence and radicalization.
