Urge Congress to Reject Attacks on Transgender Rights!

U.S. Congress:

As concerned constituents, we urge you to reject Rep. Nancy Mace’s proposed legislation that will bar transgender people from using the restroom aligned with their gender. This legislation is mean-spirited and we stand with Representative Sarah McBride as she faces transphobic attacks as she just tries to show up for the people of Delaware. Even beyond Rep. McBride, transgender people work and visit federal buildings across the country every day. Every person deserves to feel safe in the bathroom and the culture of policing gender that this policy would create will have negative impacts on all of us. We urge you to reject these and any other attacks on transgender rights moving forward.

Representative Nancy Mace (R- S.C) is attacking the rights and safety of transgender people on Capitol Hill and beyond. She has introduced two pieces of legislation—one that will ban trans people from using restrooms in alignment with their gender in the capitol complex and one that will similarly ban trans people from using the restroom on all federal property. This legislation is cruel and, most importantly, impossible to enforce without strictly policing everyone using these restrooms.
