Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Matt Gaetz, has been under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for sexual misconduct, illegal drug use, bribery and misuse of state identification records. Gaetz resigned shortly after being named as Trump’s nominee in an apparent effort to put a stop to the investigation and prevent release of the Committee’s report into his wrongdoing.

The Ethics Committee is meeting this Wednesday during which they may vote on whether to release the report. Unquestionably they should. Senators and the American people deserve to know the truth about someone tasked with serving as the nation’s highest law enforcement official.
